Young Alumni of the Year: Alexandra Copper ‘20 (Vol. 108)
Alex Copper is Legal Counsel on the Strategic Litigation team at Campaign Legal Center, where she litigates voting rights, redistricting, and campaign finance cases at both the trial and appellate levels. Before joining full-time, Alex was a fellow with CLC and served as a law clerk for Judge Valerie Caproni of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. During law school, Alex interned with CLC and the ACLU Voting Rights Project, and externed with RepresentUs. She co-led the Post-Conviction Advocacy Project and Berkeley Law Alternative Service Trips (BLAST), proposed and co-led the inaugural BLAST: Mississippi trip, and was a 2-year member of the Policy Advocacy Clinic. On the Law Review, Alex served as Managing Editor for Volume 108, where she oversaw the daily management and long-term operations of the journal. Alex earned her B.A. in Russian and East European Studies from Yale University and holds an M.A. in Conflict Resolution from Georgetown University. As an alumna, Alex has devoted herself to mentoring the next generation of election law lawyers, and is always available and eager to help any member of the Berkeley Law and CLR communities.
